HENRYGATE

Fifa Fair Play Code: "Play fair. Winning is without value if victory has been achieved unfairly or dishonestly. Cheating is easy, but brings no pleasure. Playing fair requires courage and character. Fair play always has its reward, even when the game is lost. Playing fair earns respect, while cheating only brings shame. Remember: it is only a game. And games are pointless unless played fairly." .................................... And as Al Murray [The Pub Landlord] is fond of saying ....... " You have to have rules , if you didn't have rules ... where would you be ? ................................ FRANCE " !................................. The world has reacted with revulsion at Thierry Henry's handball that helped France make the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa.
But in the most part, the response to the 'Hand of Frog' incident - surely soon to be rechristened 'Henrygate' - has been humorous [with the French National Water Polo Team coming out and condeming diving] except in Ireland where sales of a certain razor blade are set to plummet and the phrase Va-Va-Voom has been banned.

French paper L'Equipe critisized Henry for not taking the game in hand (sorry) early on in the tie , they are unhappy with how the game played out and admitted that Henry did in fact cheat , but at least he did put his hand (Ooops) up and admit it when the game was over . He got a big hand (shit) from the French crowd at the final whistle who knew they had been handed (bloody hell) this victory on a plate by FIFA .

It has been said that the only reason that the French aggreed to the channel tunnel being built was because it meant they could run further the next time they were invaded ......... they have an odd way of making friends .

..... and dont forget the famous French joke -
Man 1 " Whats the most common French expression ? "
Man 2 " I give up "
Man 1 " Correct ! "

An odd thing about the whole affair was that Lenny Henry starting getting hate mail
after the game from Irish people , not because his name was Henry ... it was because he's married to Dawn French .

There's already a Facebook group 'We Irish hate Thierry Henry the Cheat' that could bring the Internet down with it's popularity.

LOL

Liverpool (AP) - A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Liverpool courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Liverpool Football Club, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

Ba Boom ... tish !

I know that it probably looks like I'm picking on Liverpool FC ......... thats because I am :-)

WHAT DID YOU SEE ?

I have to say that I have been drawn in by ABC's FLASH FORWARD TV series [ Based on the novel "FlashForward" by Robert J. Sawyer, published in 2000 by 'Tor Books,' and which differs from the series plot, where the world's given a glimpse at their lives 21-years into the future.] , in the TV series , the entire population of the world get a glimpse of their future at a certain time 6 months in the future , everyones " Flash Forward " is 137 secs in duration and we only see snippits of the flash's . The investigation centres on finding out what happened to cause this event and find out if the outcome is a foregone conclussion or if the future can be altered , my hope is that it doesn't turn into another LOST and by that I mean that I hope it does not go on and on and on to the point that I lose all interest in the outcome .
So far I'm up to ep 7 and it still has me hooked . I do understand that there is a formula in American TV right now where timelines/flashbacks have become crutial to plot lines , but I prefer a more linier format myself and this contantly going back in time to drive the plot forward can be rather repetitive . It is quite clever in this case then to have a flashback [137 secs] as the actual plotline , and the difference between watching a Flash Forward and the normal timeline is made quite clear so there is no confusion .
While I know that the 1st series will consist of 25 episodes . I do hope it is a self-contained story with full disclosure at the end .

I will not be playing the online game that accompanies the series ..... I do have a life .

(I enjoyed " The Lost Room " very much and appreciated the fact that it was fast and furious at only 3 episodes in all [ The Key and The Clock , The Comb and The Box , The Eye and The Occupant ] , I understand that it was called Series 1 but so far Series 2 seems to be a faraway dream and anyway , Series 1 was in itself a self-contained story .) I didn't play its online game either .

I do like this guy though -->

.... I believe there is something important in his pouch .
