Oooooooops !

Kazakhstan's shooting team has been left stunned after a comedy national anthem from the film Borat was played at a medal ceremony at championships in Kuwait instead of the real one.

The team asked for an apology and the medal ceremony was later rerun.

The team's coach told Kazakh media the organisers had downloaded the parody from the internet by mistake.

The song was produced by UK comedian Sacha Baron Cohen for the film, which shows Kazakhs as backward and bigoted.

Footage of Thursday's original ceremony posted on YouTube shows gold medallist Maria Dmitrienko listening to the anthem without emotion and finally smiling as it ends.

The spoof song praises Kazakhstan for its superior potassium exports and for having the cleanest prostitutes in the region.

The film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, released in 2006, follows Baron Cohen's character, the journalist Borat Sagdiyev, as he travels to the US and pursues the actress Pamela Anderson.

The film outraged people in Kazakhstan and was eventually banned in the country. The government also threatened Baron Cohen with legal action.

BORAT'S VERSION

IT'S '10 ITEMS OR FEWER' ... NOT '10 ITEMS OR LESS' !

Even Hollywood gets it wrong .... the phrase has even been made into what looks like a terrible movie starring Morgan Freeman.

And lousy grammer
So if you want to be cooler than a supermarket aisle, here’s one simple rule: if you can count the things you’re talking about, use ‘fewer‘. If you can’t, use ‘less‘.

You can’t count time: Less time

You can’t count water: Less water

You can’t count fat: Less fat

You CAN count numbers of hours: Fewer hours

and numbers of cups: Fewer cups of water,

and numbers of calories: Fewer calories

Sarah Palin's Unbelievable Reimagining of Paul Revere's Ride

Sarah Palin says she didn't mess up her history on Paul Revere.

The potential 2012 presidential candidate was in Boston on Thursday as part of her bus tour when she was asked about the Revolutionary War hero.

Palin said Revere "warned the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms."

Palin, a paid Fox News contributor, told "Fox News Sunday" that she was correct. She says there were British soldiers in the area for years before Revere's legendary ride, and that he was warning them, as well as his fellow colonists.

Surely this is American History 101 ....... even in Ireland we know that Paul Revere didn't ride to warn the British .... not to mention ' bells and shots '. The least one would expect from a Presidential nominee would be a basic grasp of the history of the country they might be running in.

PLANKERS

The lying down game (also known as planking, or face downs) is an activity, popular in Asia and Australia, consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body, and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the internet is an integral part of the game. Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play. The location should also be as public as possible, and as many people as possible should be involved

The term "planking" was coined in Australia and the practice became a fad in 2011. It has its origins in the "lying down game".

The lying down game was invented by Gary Clarkson and Christian Langdon in 1997 It first became popular in North East England, then all of Britain by the summer of 2009 reaching the point by late 2010 where it was described by Andrew Sullivan as "sweeping Britain". The game made news in September 2009, when seven doctors and nurses working at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, England were suspended for playing the lying down game while on duty. The game has been described by some as "pointless" and as "Parkour for those who can’t be arsed".

WEDNESDAY 25th MAY WAS ' ANNUAL GLOBAL PLANKING DAY'.

One could strain with all their might and still be unable to conceive of things more meaninglessly self-abasing than lying face-down to get some thumbs-up, but we live in desperately meaningless times. And it’s not as if there weren’t stupid teen crazes of yore. Train-surfing wasn’t the brightest of ideas, yet at least it carried a subtext of poverty, bravery, and danger. It also required a modicum of athletic skill. Pole-sitting was a goofy American fad in the Roaring Twenties before the Great Depression came along and replaced it with a goofier fad of stockbrokers jumping from skyscraper ledges.

Customer: ' I would like to order a cake for a going away party this week.'
Walmart Employee: 'What you want on da cake ?'
Customer: 'Best Wishes Suzanne' and underneath that 'We will miss you'.
