Manchester United midfielder Anderson 'dragged unconscious from burning car wreck'


Manchester United midfielder Anderson was dragged unconscious from the wreckage of a car crash shortly before the vehicle burst into flames.

The 22-year-old was pulled from the £125,000 Audi R8 after the serious accident in Portugal in the early hours of Sunday morning.



Anderson is said to have spent the evening at the Sardinha Biba nightclub before leaving in the French-registered Audi that has a top speed of 197mph.

The Brazilian was believed to be travelling with two friends, a man and a woman, when the accident occurred.

Anderson, 22, faces the possibility of a police investigation in Portugal after it emerged he was driving the Audi R8 car [a two seater] that crashed and burst into flames at 7am on Saturday as he and two companions returned from a nightclub in Braga .

Anderson's body was dragged from the burning wreckage before it exploded, with witnesses reporting the the player saying he owed them his life.

All three were taken to St Mark's hospital but discharged by late morning after being treated for concussion, whiplash and shock.
