The color red may be the simplest reason people are attracted to each other. New research shows that not only are men attracted to a woman in a red dress "The Lady in Red" syndrome, but men who wear red will get the same reaction from women.
New research finds that when a man wears a red shirt, he is seen by women as powerful, attractive and sexually desirable. And on the face of it, women are completely unaware of this arousing effect. A team from the University of Rochester, New York found that the effect was limited to status and romance. It did not make the man seem more likable, kind or sociable.
NewsliteTV reports that the tests were conducted by psychologists who told the women to rate the attractiveness of a variety of men and to say if they were willing to date, kiss, or engage in sexual activity with them. The testers then digitally altered the T-shirt color on each man, and compared the responses. They found the men dressed in red consistently scored as being more attractive.
Similar studies were conducted around the world, throughout the U.S., England, German and China. And all got the same results.
