"Crocodile Dundee" star, Paul Hogan, returned to Australia following the death of his 101-year-old mother. Upon his return, he was stopped by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) because of an astronomical tax bill.

Most remember Paul Hogan for his role as “Crocodile Dundee,” the outback Australian, but now he may be known for another role as a tax evader.



According to the ABC Online News, Hogan could face up to four years in prison in Australia for unpaid taxes, which is estimated to be $36.7 million but could skyrocket to $150 million because of interests, fees and penalties.

The Australian movie star was stopped by the ATO when he returned to Australia from California following the death of his 101-year-old mother.

Hogan was also prohibited from leaving Australia until his alleged tax debt is resolved.
