THIS WEEKS MOVIE REVIEW

This week I will be reviewing the romantic comedy " The Shining " .

It is typical Stanley Kubrick fare in so far as it is a light hearted comedy with a stylistically modernist art-music sound track , it was filmed entirely at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, in England , The original story was written by Stephen King in his usual " boy meets girl " style of his so there are no surprises there.

A 1980's romp starring Jack Nicholson [Jack] and Shelly Duvall [Wendy] as a pair of happy go lucky young lovers with a delightful son Danny [Danny Lloyd] who take a trip away from the hussle and bussle of big city life to a quiet hotel for a winter's break . Jack is looking to find some inspiration for a novel he plans to right , Wendy and Danny are simply looking for a reconnection with Jack .
With the help of some endearing locals played by Scatman Crothers and Joe Turkel , the family find what they have been missing in their interactions and the Torrance family manage to bond once again into a loving , caring clan with a renewed outlook on life and love .

Oh ..... and Jack freezes to death at the end .

I give it a 7/10 ..... and 3 smiley faces .

Thank you and Good Day to you.
