CHELSEA 2 - LIVERPOOL 1

Mocked by Liverpool's supporters as having "no history", Chelsea continued to ransack the record books here yesterday in winning their fourth FA Cup in six seasons.

John Terry has been captain for all those triumphs – a record with one club – Ashley Cole now has seven winners' medals in all (the first three having come during his Arsenal days) and, most significantly of all on the day, Didier Drogba scored for the fourth time in a Cup final, three of those having been the winning goal.

NEW RECORDS FOR CHELSEA FC

Ashley Cole become the first player to lift the Cup 7 times.
Didier Drogba became the first player to score in 4 separate finals.
John Terry the first Cptain to lift it 4 times with the same club.
Ramires the first Brazilian to score in a FA final.
Petr Cech is the first goalkeeper to win the cup 4 times.
Roberto di Matteo, maybe the 4th manager to win, as a player and manager, at the same club - but the first to have done it and scored.

We are now level with Tottenham Hotspur FC for Trophies won .... 1n 23 fewer years.

THE BITS YOU DON'T NORMALLY GET TO SEE
