Facebook Sets First Hacker Cup in January 2011

Hackers worlwide will be given the chance to show their mettle and compete against each other during Facebook's First Hackers Cup to be held January 2011.

A $5000.00 cash awaits the winner of the Facebook Hacker Cup  . Hackers from around the world compete for fame and recognition.

A message in the Facebook website says 'Facebook Hacker Cup is an annual worldwide programming competition where hackers compete against each other for fame, forture, glory and a shot at the Coveted Hacker Cup.'

The online contest starts in January and will end March 2011 with the top 25 contestants given the chance to go to California for the final stage of the competition.

Previously, Mark Zuckerberg announced he will be giving away part of his fortune to Bill Gates' and Warrent Buffet's initiative called "Giving Pledge."
