SOMEBODY CALL A WAAAAAAMBULANCE

Tottenham’s redevelopment plans, report on tax avoidance & putting locals out of business

David Conn investigates the local impact of the redevelopment of the area around White Hart Lane in north London to include a new 56,000 seat stadium for Tottenham Hotspur FC. Haringey council's plans for new shops, walkways, flats and hotels could mean flattening local businesses and the threat of compulsory land purchases. Meanwhile Spurs have gone back on an agreement to fund improvements to the area worth £16m

?

After appearing at Bayern on Saturday, 11 men dressed in identical black robes turn up at Chelsea.

Eleven unknown men are spooking out European football just days before Halloween having appeared at the Allianz Arena and then Stamford Bridge on Saturday and Sunday in amazingly scary outfits.

Dressed in black hooded gowns with satanic looking symbols on the front, and with whited-out faces, the eleven men have been spotted at the homes of Bayern Munich and Chelsea in successive days.

According to reports, the 11 men were spotted making strange synchronised gestures during the Bundelsiga match, with one fan saying: “It was very weird. They sat very still for a long time but then would hold their hands up together, or stand up in unison and then sit down again. Everyone near me was very confused. Some people laughed, some looked astonished. It was just very weird.” Pictures of the freaky football fans from over at Bayern on Saturday above.

Breaking Bad's Biggest Fan, Sir Anthony Hopkins

The Oscar winner’s publicist has since confirmed that Hopkins did indeed send the fan letter below.

Anthony Hopkins, who reportedly binge-watched the entire five seasons in a recent two-week marathon. The 75-year-old Oscar winner was apparently so impressed by the series that he e-mailed a kind-hearted fan letter to Breaking Bad’s inimitable lead, Bryan Cranston, which notes, “Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen—ever.”

  Dear Mister Cranston.

I wanted to write you this email - so I am contacting you through Jeremy Barber - I take it we are both represented by UTA . Great agency.

I've just finished a marathon of watching "BREAKING BAD" - from episode one of the First Season - to the last eight episodes of the Sixth Season. [Ed note: There are in fact five seasons of Breaking Bad; this might have been wishful thinking.] (I downloaded the last season on AMAZON) A total of two weeks (addictive) viewing.

I have never watched anything like it. Brilliant!

Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen - ever.

I know there is so much smoke blowing and sickening bullshit in this business, and I've sort of lost belief in anything really.

But this work of yours is spectacular - absolutely stunning. What is extraordinary, is the sheer power of everyone in the entire production. What was it? Five or six years in the making? How the producers (yourself being one of them), the writers, directors, cinematographers.... every department - casting etc. managed to keep the discipline and control from beginning to the end is (that over used word) awesome.

From what started as a black comedy, descended into a labyrinth of blood, destruction and hell. It was like a great Jacobean, Shakespearian or Greek Tragedy.

If you ever get a chance to - would you pass on my admiration to everyone - Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Aaron Paul, Betsy Brandt, R.J. Mitte, Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Steven Michael Quezada - everyone - everyone gave master classes of performance ... The list is endless.

Thank you. That kind of work/artistry is rare, and when, once in a while, it occurs, as in this epic work, it restores confidence.

You and all the cast are the best actors I've ever seen.

That may sound like a good lung full of smoke blowing. But it is not. It's almost midnight out here in Malibu, and I felt compelled to write this email.

Congratulations and my deepest respect. You are truly a great, great actor.

 Best regards

 Tony Hopkins.

Banksy's video of a 'rebel rocket attack' ... on Dumbo

In this video published by British street artist Banksy, a group of what appear to be Islamist rebels are seen firing a rocket into the sky and cheering wildly … before Disney's flying elephant character Dumbo falls to the ground. The artist wrote on his website: 'I'm not posting any pictures today. Not after this shocking footage has emerged.' Banksy is starting a month-long 'residency' on the streets of New York

First pic of giant hornets that killed 28 people emerges

Hundreds of people have been stung by swarms of the flying insects in Shaanxi province, with more than 230 people being stung in the city of Ankang alone, where there have been 18 deaths.

The Asian Giant Hornet's sting is highly toxic and can lead to anaphylactic shock and renal failure.

Pictures of the creature have been uploaded to Imgur.

WOLVERINE GETS AWAY WITH IT

photo wolverine-image_zps8b8b79f4.jpgThe Football Association has announced it will take no disciplinary action against Fernando Torres following an incident involving Jan Vertonghen during Chelsea's Premier League match against Tottenham on Saturday.

The Chelsea forward, who appeared to scratch the Tottenham defender on the face during the 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane, was later sent off - but will now serve just a one-match ban.

An FA statement read: "One of the match officials saw the coming together of the two players, albeit not in its entirety. "In these particular circumstances, in line with the FA's policy on when retrospective action may be taken, reviewed this summer by the game's stakeholders, no action may be taken."

Torres was shown a yellow card following the first coming together and collected his second booking after a aerial tussle with the Belgian during the second half.

Vertonghen is expected to make a full recovery despite having no injury whatsoever
