Manchester United's new holy trinity of Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie set for lift-off

David Moyes poised to unleash attacking trio who could follow in the footsteps of Old Trafford icons George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton against Stoke.

David Moyes is relishing the prospect of unleashing Manchester United’s modern-day holy trinity on the Premier League.

United’s famed holy trinity of George Best, Denis Law and Sir Bobby Charlton earned legendary status at Old Trafford, leading the Reds to glory in the 1960s.

Now, Moyes is hoping the present-day trio of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and new signing Juan Mata can inspire the club to similar success under him.

The trio could play together for the first time on Saturday when the champions travel to Stoke, looking to build on Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Cardiff.

FINAL SCORE ..... STOKE 2 - UNITED 1

'I don't know what we have to do to win a game' said Moyes after the game ... perhaps thats the problem.
