LITTLE CHEF

'Roadside food chain Little Chef was last night accused of encouraging drug use by selling T-shirts with the slogan "I Love Charlie". The red or white tops are meant to to celebrate the motorway firm's famous chef mascot called Charlie. But they are being snapped up by students because of the name is also slang for cocaine.

One mum who spotted her teenage son wearing the £5.99 top said: "I do not think it is responsible for Little Chef to sell a shirt with that slogan." But a university student, who did not want to be named, said: "They are just a bit of a laugh. They are not encouraging anyone to do drugs." Little Chef - which called on TV cook Heston Blumenthal to help revamp its image two years ago - launched the tops to help mark its 50th anniversary'
