LIVERPOOL SIGN JOSE ALLENSO

Joe Allen, 22, completed a medical and signed a long-term contract with Liverpool. Liverpool met the $23.5 million release clause to acquire Allen. Terms of his contract were not disclosed.


He broke into the first team with Swansea City in 2007, and made well over 100 appearances for the club.

Capped eight times for Wales, Allen was a member of the Great Britain Olympic team in the 2012 London Games. He appeared in five matches in the Olympics.
